Abstract |
|
This study is an attempt to understand the dynamics
of Indian Rupee fluctuations against US Dollar using
yearly observations over the period of 13 years from
2001 to September 2013. In this paper, evolution
of exchange rate mechanism from fixed to hybrid
exchange rate system in context of India along with
the journey of ` since independence has been
explored. Further, an attempt has been made to
identify the key variables that influence the Indian
rupee fluctuations against US Dollar. Finally,
Ordinary Least Square (OLS) modeling is done on the
log computed variables to know the determinants of
the rupee fluctuations against dollar.
